I am an artist, activist, writer and work with communities in Bradford. I have been working in the communities for about 15 years now. I run social action projects aimed at dealing with issues which are relevant in community today.
Alun Kirby spent 20 years as a research scientist while making images in secret. He finally committed to being a full-time artist in 2017. Alun’s work responds to historical and contemporary philosophical and neurological theories of memory and self. His work primarily uses the cyanotype process, often combined with origami, textiles and digital components. Alun is involved in a long-term exploration of memory and self through work with local dementia action groups and the people they support. He lives and works in York.
