Black Swan Arts, is thrilled to have invited composer and sound artist Helen Ottaway to be the curator of LISTEN, an ambitious programme of beautiful and intriguing art that is inspired by and uses sound in many forms. LISTEN will take place in and around the buildings of Black Swan Arts and in other public and private spaces in Frome. The season will include exhibitions, installations, workshops, performances, sound walks and talks and a ‘listening hub’ in the Round Tower where you can delve into all kinds of sonic worlds. We are delighted to welcome to Frome immensely creative stars of the worlds of sound art and music including; Scanner (AKA Robin Rimbaud); Errollyn Wallen, Satsymph, Michael Ormiston, Sadie Harrison and Jem Finer. Helen Ottaway, as well as curating LISTEN is contributing beautiful music as part of Artmusic’s installation ‘Lachrymae’ in the Blue House garden, one to look out for. You can feast your eyes as well as your ears on Michael Collier and Bennett Hogg’s ‘Dawn Chorus’ exhibition in the Long Gallery and David Daniels ‘Music Wanting to be Played’ in the Round Tower.

LISTEN is an invitation to explore your surroundings through sound, bring your ears and an open mind to Frome this summer for an aural extravaganza. Visit our website to fine out more! listensoundart.org.uk
