Lucy Read explores basic human needs required to survive, during these timesof transition and change. The need to eat, drink and sleep. The artist suggeststhat “we can take comfort by reliving memories of protection, and recallingsenses that take us back to the nostalgia of child hood. For me it is the materialsthat I use which evoke memories through process, touch and smell”. A house constructed from ‘out of date’ bread takes centre stage.
