ONE will show one piece of work by the exhibiting artist in the downstairs exhibition space. The work will be, in their view, the result of an ongoing attempt to push their practice forward. In the upstairs spaces the artist will be given free reign to present a mixture of other work and any other source material/documentation that they feel informs their practice and that in particular puts the making of the 'one' piece of work on show in the downstairs gallery into context.It may or may not be what the artist initially thought they had set out to do, but it has been made. It has arrived at a point of conclusion. Within its boundaries it contains the evidence of its influences and demonstrates the physical reality of pulling disparate threads together to present a new whole.
