Press Release: ‘Cosmic‘ light to shine in East London!

Artist Terence Ffyffe presents  a brilliant series of forty  exciting new ‘Cosmic’ paintings  at the 5th Base Gallery, (off Brick Lane), London EC1 from 16th-18th September 2016.  The Australian-born artist is known for  figurative painting and this show represents a whole new departure in his work.

In this exhibition entitled ‘Painting The Light’ Terence Ffyffe combines the science of Quantum Physics with mystical spirituality to create these new joy filled oil paintings. Terry meditates every day, an occupation he describes as “ like a space journey travelling to the source”. He compares the lights, colours and shapes he sees during meditation to the images of Nebulas and Galaxies revealed via  the Hubble Telescope  and the hidden world of atoms, cells and amoebas as seen  through the electron microscope. He describes these visuals as “Incredible bio-morphic patterns that demonstrate the oneness of all creation”. He has developed a technique combining glue, water and oil to produce blueprints which he then develops into these amazing  works of art using the skills acquired in a lifetime in the studio.

Terence Ffyffe says: “Art should inspire the viewer, ideally raise the consciousness, elevate the mind to think of higher things like the beauty and mystery of the natural world, to contemplate deep questions as to purpose and meaning, like What is the origin of this life? What is reality? Questions that have no easy answer but require a personal journey of developing awareness.”
