Patchwork Arcade offers visitors the chance to experience new work created during the past 6 months of the programme from our current 2022/24 TOMA cohort.

Patchwork Arcade brings together the artists’ diverse practices including video, painting, drawing, photography and sculpture.

You are invited to the opening event to view artworks alongside performances and DJs:

>> 4pm – 6pm at Big Screen Southend: Meet outside Focal Point Gallery – for film launch and performance from Fredrix Vermin

>> 6pm – 11.30pm at Twenty One: Patchwork Arcade exhibition opening event with performances, live music, DJs. TOMA designed pizzas + cocktails available.

The launch event is split into two happenings, and you are welcome to join for both. Note: there is a walk of approx 10 minutes between venues.

* The Other MA (TOMA) is an artist-run education model set up in 2016 and based in Southend on sea supporting artists who have faced barriers accessing art education and the ‘art world’.

 

** Big Screen Southend is a purpose-built display screen which opened in 2013 for the presentation of artist commissions, live transmissions, and short and feature films relative to the cultural context of Southend, South Essex and further afield. Twenty One is a live arts venue who work with local performers and artists, have an exhibition space and speciality pizza café & bar, located on Southend seafront.
