To mark the opening of the Incendiary exhibition at SVA there will be live music from Bertha Pastor (accordion) and Misha Law (violin) to evoke memories of the ‘Ragpickers’ who sifted through dusty remains and redirected waste to useful ends on the streets of Paris. SVA-based artist Mair Hughes’ installation proposes we reimagine this character for today’s circumstances.
The music will be followed by speakers and discussion around art practice and environmental thinking, considering the dreams and detritus of post-industrial cities and towns.

Music by Bertha Pastor and Misha Law
Guest speaker – Prof Kate Rigby (Environmental Humanities, Bath Spa Uni)
