Vasilis Asimakopoulos, Claudia Borgna, James Capper, Joseph Doldon, Luke Hart, Nick Hornby, Jessica Lloyd-Jones, Lara Ritosa-Roberts, Samantha Sand-Holmes and Sam Spenser. The RBS Bursary Award 2009 is a showcase of current contemporary practice; ten sculptors have been presented with this prestigious award and this unique opportunity of exhibiting their work as part of a group show in London. Individual and bold, the sculptors explore the interfaces between art, science, ecology, technology and philosophy. The rich diversity of work reflects the individual artists’ background and their journey using sculpture as a means to express their ideas. The RBS Bursary Awards are designed to benefit sculptors’ in the early stages of their careers by providing opportunities and support enabling them to make the transition to a full and successful professional practice. This includes membership to RBS for two years, opportunities to exhibit, present talks, participate in training seminars, attend RBS events and access the unique RBS mentoring scheme. The RBS Bursary Award is generously supported by the Gilbert Bayes Charitable Trust
