Artist collective Red Dot are staging the first ever Recycling Week in Liverpool. It will consist of a series of workshops, in which participants will create artwork from waste materials and found objects. The launch event on Friday 19 September (12pm – 5pm) will take place at St Luke's Church ('the bombed out church' ) in Liverpool city centre. Urban Strawberry will teach people how to create musical instruments from junk. A further 8 workshops, in which participants will create artwork from waste materials and found objects, will take place at the Liverpool Centre for Arts Development from 22-26 September at 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm each day. A field trip to a Recycling Centre will also take place on 26 September (10am – 1pm).
