Notes to Editor

CATHERINE HARRISON is a mixed media artist interested in history, decay and symbolism. Her practice is rooted in a fascination with found objects corroded by the elements. She brings a new perspective and life to these objects through experimenting, constructing and transforming materials. For Reshaping the Past, Harrison will exhibit a series of prints and drawings that aim to fix and hold onto past memories. The artist recently co-curated and exhibited in Evocation at Elevator Studios and Avenue HQ. She has also previously exhibited at Saul Hay Gallery in Manchester, Exchange Place Studios in Sheffield and The Crypt Gallery in London. Harrison graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Liverpool Community College and is a studio member at Arena Studios in Liverpool.

SUFEA MOHAMAD NOOR is an artist-curator interested in social history and materiality. Her practice uses words, textiles and food to tell untold stories, explore personal memories and bring people together. She will be exhibiting a series of sculptures for Reshaping the Past. The artist was recently commissioned for the Lunar New Year celebrations at FACT and the Eurovision public programme. She was also a recipient of the Liverpool Biennial x Sevenstore bursary. Mohamad Noor graduated from University of Leeds with a masters degree in Art Gallery and Museum Studies. She is a studio member at The Royal Standard in Liverpool.

WENDY WILLIAMS is a mixed media artist known for her large scale installations. ForReshaping the Past, Williams will be showing a new series of paintings that contain buildings as places for sanctuary or a hint of a memory. Previous commissions include an installation at Chester Cathedral, St John’s Church in Leeds, Christchurch in Birkenhead and The Chapel Gallery in Ormskirk. Her paintings are in the collections and Wolverhampton Art Gallery and The Atkinson in Southport. Williams studied Fine Art at Birmingham City University and is based on the Wirral.

ELEVATOR STUDIOS is a busy building full of creative businesses on Parliament Street. It’s located opposite the new Box Park in the Baltic Triangle neighbourhood. The ground floor gallery is on the left of the entrance and across the Arts Bar Baltic.
