From sketches in oil on board Siobhan O’Hanlon makes an immediate and direct response to nature, which she develops through studio practice into large scale monotypes and silk screen prints. Each printing process is explored for its unique properties, and drawing into the prints creates structure and distance through deliberate mark making transforming the layered surfaces of the printed work into dynamic drawings.
