Southwell Artists are once more running the biennial ?Southwell Open Studios?, which will take place this year on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of October. The aim of Southwell Open Studios is to make the visual arts more available and accessible to the public and to show the different approaches and techniques this varied group uses to create their work. All the artists live in or have connections with the town. This is another opportunity see and meet the members of the group in their studios and to buy work directly from the artists. In the past the Open Studio events have been hugely successful in attracting many visitors to the studios and in order that we always present a fresh approach with new elements we include a number of invited artists to exhibit with us. As many of you will know David Measures, a member of the group, died last year. His contribution was enormous and he is missed very much by everyone.
