Winner of the recent Mark Tanner Sculpture Award, Clara Clark’s first solo show ‘Spaceship’ presents an inverse notion of a planet, a DIY simulation of space travel, it draws on idealised notions of a mad scientist creating a space ship in the garden shed, or a child using whatever is available to embark on imaginative adventures. It encourages the viewer to draw on their own experiences to build a construct in their mind, provoking thought about perception by creating pleasurable, escapist experiences within the gallery.
