Storytelling weekend course with Stephen Park and Wilf Merttens. As part of Dartmoor Arts events for 2010 we are pleased to announce our storytelling weekend course. Wilf is a young award winning poet and storyteller, and Stephen is a middle aged comic performer, artist and teacher! An invitation to delve into the ancient art of storytelling with a two day workshop designed to introduce you to the diverse skills of performance relevant to the indefinable practice of telling stories, from imagined geographies to “staying in the now”. Have no fear, the emphasis will be on playful improvisation and not word-perfect-recital. No previous experience necessary just bring along a story, be it Greek myth, Grimm tale or protracted anecdote, and the desire to experience the thrill of performance.
