Strange but True goings on at Norden Farm……… This two-hander exhibition of work by Felicity Clarke and Hazel Connors invites the visitor to experience the inner workings of their everyday world. From the artists’ skewed points of view, sometimes playful, sometimes dramatic, inanimate objects can take on a life of their own revealing glimpses of unseen forces or alternative realities. Both artists trained in textiles and now work in mixed media. Despite this shared background and attitude the form of their work and their use of materials differ widely. Connors’ pieces have a pared down elegance which embrace new technologies and materials to disorientating effect whilst Clarke plays with the traditional associations of her textile inheritance, using conventional techniques to eccentric ends.
