STREET CONNECT brings together artists from Street Gallery, and documentation from Street Museum as we connect, review and look forward to the future. Revisiting artists to see new works of art and reconnect with each other in the new arts space in Peterlee.
Carolyn Corfield’s ceramic wall sculpture for this display signifies the human need for social interaction. Her work for the previous exhibition, Street Event in 2020, took the form of a poster, a manipulated image of her sculpture referencing the global scale slowdown in human activity during that period. In effect her follow up piece, ‘The Gathering’, closes the circle as we resume our normal activities.
The event is organised by East Durham Creates which is part of Arts Council England’s programme.
