Townley and Bradby, Magnificent Revolution and Jonathan P Watts present The Bowthorpe Experiment, a cycle tour to the future of Norwich. Tours leave Chapelfield Gardens at 7.30 pm on 13th,14th,15th May. Booking essential, ring the festival box office 01603 766400, £3/£2 per place. The current street layout of Bowthorpe allows pedestrians and cyclists to take the most direct route, while motor traffic is sent the long way round. This cycle tour will offer a vision of Norwich in which the benefits enjoyed by people in Bowthorpe – safe cycling and walking, streets that are also play spaces – have been rolled out across the whole city. On arrival in Bowthorpe, we will unpack the portable bike-powered cinema we’ve been towing in a bike trailer, and project a short film onto the side of a building, creating both a public event and a prophetic vision. The tour will last about 2 ½ hours. Either bring your own bike, or reserve one of the free Bowthorpe Experiment bikes when you buy your ticket.
