6-9pm. Free. Limited spaces for group discussion. RSVP required to [email protected] Open to all professional and student practitioners, the Dramaturgs’ Café is a monthly networking and discussion evening designed to support freelance dramaturgs working primarily within devised performance, as well as practitioners interested in devising with the help of a dramaturg. Each month we focus on a hot topic or key issue, with a guest speaker leading a group discussion, followed by a chance to chat more informally. The topic for March is protocols and communication, with guest discussion facilitator John Keefe. There are an increasing number of dramaturgs working in live art, devised theatre, experimental performance and dance contexts and an exciting discourse surrounding the transforming role of the dramaturg in the UK. This sociable networking event aims to tap into some of this discourse and support the further development of the role in the UK. The Dramaturgs’ Café is a Dramaturgs’ Network event, supported by Stratford Circus and Artsadmin.
