Earth | Atmosphere explores the contribution of contemporary craft to the experience and perception of cultural heritage and identity, through the work of ceramicist Halima Cassell and textile artist Seiko Kinoshita. The exhibition features brand-new large-scale work by both makers. Seiko Kinoshita’s colourful textile installations combine traditional Japanese weaving techniques with a contemporary aesthetic, whilst Halima Cassell’s richly-carved ceramic forms draw on her fascination with geometry and the architecture and decorative traditions of North Africa.
