turn the page Artists Book Fair is a two day event held in the stunning glass Atrium of The Forum in Norwich City Centre. This year the fair will be held on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May. The only event of its type and caliber in the Eastern Region, the turn the page offers a unique platform for artists whose work is book based. In 2019 the fair will feature work by over 40 individual artists, fine presses, independent publishers and artists groups.

turn the page is proud to announce a rare chance to see original artists’ books by internationally renown artist Richard Long. Longs artists books will be exhibited throughout the two days of the fair. Richard Long is an English sculptor and one of the best-known British land artists. Long is the only artist to have been short-listed four times for the Turner Prize. He was nominated in 1984, 1987 and 1988, and then won the award in 1989 for White Water Line. He currently lives and works in Bristol, the city in which he was born. Long studied at Saint Martin’s School of Art before going on to create work using various media including sculpture, photography and text. His artist books incorporate all the mediums, subjects and environments for which he has become so well known.

Speaking about turn the page 2019 Creative Director Rosie Sherwood has this to say:

“The line up for turn the page 2019 is a truly exciting one: filling the atrium of The Forum with book art of every type and style imaginable, including some extraordinary installations. The artists, artists groups and publishers exhibiting at the fair this year represent some of the most exciting book artists working in the UK today. Highlights from the fair this year include Connecting Threads from Gwen Simpson; Two Points East from the Society of Bookbinders; Object Lessons from Sioban Piercy; and an exclusive exhibit of book art from Richard Long. I am thrilled beyond imagining to be exhibiting work by Richard Long, I have been a huge fan of his work since I was young and the opportunity to share his book art at turn the page is a privilege.”

This year’s program of events will also include a host work FREE workshops and a poetry reading from Norwich based TOAST Poetry

Rosie said, “turn the page has a long history of a diverse and exciting program of events that compliment and enhance the book arts being exhibited. This year is no exception, with poetry and storytelling alongside a host of FREE workshops taking place in the heart of the fair.”

The performances at turn the page this year will take place in the beautiful surrounds of the Norfolk and Norwich Millenium Library housed within The Forum. The details are as follows:
