How can York Citizens properly engage with participatory budgeting?

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT pokes holes in the way we understand difficult and uneasy relationship between art and economy, with specific aim to illuminate grassroots economics and participatory budgeting. Originally started as an exploration of power in the Blockchain technologies, as a precursor to social engagement, it is now focusing on community organising for spatial and economic justice with aspiration to build and visually represent community-led narratives of hope, very real knowledge transfer and community skill development inspired by culture of solidarity and mutual aid.

The session will start a conversation about what participatory budgeting / devolved decision-making could look like for York.

York MCN Network will be joining the session, bringing a particular lens on severe and multiple disadvantage in York, and how different approaches to funding, budgeting and decision making could create real, positive change.

A workshop by Larisa Blazic in partnership with Kaizen Arts CIC and York MCN
