water-shed. New work by Edmund de Waal. Edmund de Waal is one of Britain’s leading artists working with ceramics. His work is represented in many international collections and has been exhibited widely at art galleries and musuems, including Tate Britain, MIMA (Middlesbrough), Kettle’s Yard (Cambridge), and Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum. Recent commissions have included his ambitious Signs and Wonders installation which opened at the V&A Museum in September 2009.In this exhibition de Waal will explore the use of vessels in medical treatments, drawing inspiration from the collection at Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum. As well as examples of the artist’s earlier work, the exhibition will feature a new artwork titled water-shed, which reimagines a medical cabinet filled with vessels glazed in blues and greys.
