FACTORY NIGHTS

Three Reds
Photo: Paul Juillerat.
I have always been interested in painters who use colour intensely. As a sculptor I have this desire to draw my experiences of paintings into my work. Artists like Patrick Heron, Howard Hodgkin, Frank Stella and many others have influenced the shape and colour of these contemporary pieces; sculpture definitely, paintings in space perhaps, but ultimately a profound leap in my work to unite the two.

Untitled blog post from "Creating: An occasional discourse and diatribe"
…just completed another garden project. The chap I employ is an experienced landscaper and a champion bodybuilder with muscles on his muscles on his muscles…he's French Canadian, in the RN for five years firing BFG's (big *ucking guns), escort to […]
Untitled blog post from "You can go anywhere from anywhere"
The week went fast. It was good to stand back from the workshop side of the project for a few days and assess things. I really enjoy working with people but it's hard to give enough attention to your own […]
Untitled blog post from "Hereford College of Arts"
Have finally finished my painting for the Summer Show and fitted the mirror plates ready for the hang. Just need to wrap it up securely ready for my man with the van on Wednesday 4th June. I will be very […]
Untitled blog post from "The Pines Garden St. Margaret’s Bay"
I did the last bit of research in St.Margaret’s in March and this was done with a rather stinking cold and I fear that I did not only collect information but also was passing on more than a fair share […]
