Leanne Mawer, Oak and Glass.

An image of a section of the oak block, the oak was cut to order and belt sanded then left for two weeks for it to dry and naturally split.


The oak was treated with 3 coats of danish oil so that it can be exhibited in a outdoor environment as well as a gallery space.


Sections of glass were individually added to the woods natural splits that appeared as a result of being exposed to the air and sun, during the night and if it rained the oak was covered with tarpaulin.
