London – this refers to Felicia’s gruelling job in a tea shop employed as as scullion. It borrows one of her sketches and places it in an imaginary (cafe) interior after El Lizzitzky ‘s Beat the Whites with Red Wedge (1919). Felicia had joined the communist party on her return from Berlin and attempted to unionise her female colleagues at the tea shop whose working conditions were appalling.
