No Man's Land Fort

No Man’s Land Fort is one of four Solent forts built between 1865-80 to defend Portsmouth and it’s harbour from sea attack and bombardment. They were never used in anger and have become known locally as “Palmerston’s Follies” after the Prime Minister of the time.
