‘Il Voce’, Polychromed wood (limewood, gesso, acrylics, MDF base), 2010. (81 x 81 x 40cm). Based on religious carvings of the 15th and 16thC and using similar techniques. Although I have done bits and pieces of ‘whittling’ I have never done anything like this before, and had to teach myself to carve and so forth to produce this. Using these techniques is integral to the concept. I carried out the preliminaries last year.
