Whoops!

This blog post seems to have become detached from it's parent blog!

I’ve practiced sketching with a stylus pen pen on iPad, and I’m happy with the results. I had to change certain aspects of drawing digitally. The marks made on the iPad was the same darkness regardless of the pressure the pen was on the screen, so I changed the shading instead.

I invented the second drawing using the previous ideas of the sticks from reed diffusers as a starting point. The bottle was a Diesel Loverdose perfume bottle. I chose that one out of the others because of the distinct shape of the glass which I thought was interesting to draw. I made the object unrecognisable because of the original images were distorted when I merged them. I called it Roots I because the term roots signify roots of plants, hair and even place of origin. I think the evolution of the work from ideas to art makes the title appropriate for the drawing. Deleuze and Guattari used the word Rhizome as a concept relating to the endless connections between signs and symbols. I have a copy of their book from BA so I can read about what the authors wrote about rhizomes. Apparently it can be read in any order and still make sense.
