Whoops!

This blog post seems to have become detached from it's parent blog!

I had to change a few things with the Research in Practice module, such as what artwork I’m looking at. I have chosen to look at Andromedan Sad Girl, a collaborative exhibition by Florence Peake and Tai Shani. I decided it was going to be this artwork when I read that the sound suggested a pre-linguistic dimension where speech is not yet required, but open. It relates to the mirror stage because this stage happens before language is acquired. These’s are quick drawings I made as an attempt to deconstruct the work.

I also think it’s interesting to relate Shani’s symbolic sculptures; psychedelic interpretations of mystical objects to the interpretation of my studio work, and even make work in response to it.
