Whoops!

This blog post seems to have become detached from it's parent blog!

I’ve been focusing on Research in Practice more than the studio work this week. There was feedback from last week was to bring forward the structure from Research and Practice and apply it to the studio work, which is unstructured at the moment.

On the Research in Practice module, I’m using drawing as a method to analyse Andromedan Sad Girl in the context of Lacan’s mirror stage. So it would make sense to put the drawings in the category of art and psychology. Surrealism is related to the two because it’s engaging with the unconscious.

The unconscious isn’t in mainstream psychology anymore, but the topic was a zeitgeist in the late 19th/early 20th Century Europe.
