Whoops!

This blog post seems to have become detached from it's parent blog!

I’ve prepared a couple of images in bitmap, so I can screen print them onto mirrors tomorrow. The second image reminds me of Stephen King’s 1980 novella, The Mist because of the tentacles emerging from the other side of the door. I find it interesting because it is related to the genre magical realism, which is a mundane setting with something that’s unreal. I’m also reading Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore, which is based on an alternate reality of some sort. I think that’s what I’m trying to do with my work by adding tentacles, but interestingly I’m also using mirrors that reflect what’s tangible and real.
