
Alison A Raimes
Project Co-ordinator at the Whistle Art Stop and a practicing artist , Alison has recently returned to Northumberland where she went to high school during the 1970s. She has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Manchester Metropolitan University. Alison has supported her art through working as an administrative and finance officer for several non-profit making organisations including Cancer Research UK, Afghan Action, Employment Focus, The Building Exploratory, Architecture Centre Network and currently works for Northern Architecture. She was an active member of Bow Arts Trust, London where she practiced art for over 12 years and now has a studio at the Whistle Art Stop. Alison is passionate about the impact of socially engaged and community involvement in art and was a key speaker at the Regeneration and the Premises Crisis in East London which sought to highlight the increasing problem of sustainable workspace for artists.
