Deborah Last: Artist I am an artist working in North Devon. I work directly from life and from memory. I am currently studying an MA in contemporary Art Practice at Plymouth Uni. My work is currently about the nature of birth and representations of it. Throughout 2015 I explored the landscape in oils, capturing the light and weather of the changing seasons. My contemporary style, expressive colour and brush strokes blend with a traditional form of art to create a unique and beautiful series of paintings. Undertaking daily painting has further informed my understanding of the landscape and the year long research project of daily painting has hugely informed her current practice. In 2013 I produced an installation piece ‘Upper Room’ which combines sound, body printing and anatomical drawing. It is a work exploring and examining body image, self-worth and faith. Having spent 7 years living in India working as an artist and tutor, my work retains the love of colour and story that so inspired me whilst I was there.

My work is held in private collections throughout the UK and abroad, Together with my fellow artist and friend Zoë Day we set up and jointly owned Buckingham Art School until December 2016.
I am a Patron and a founding member of Buckingham Art For All. Website: www.deborahlast.co.uk Instagram: debs_last Facebook: Deborah Last artist. Bideford North Devon
