Roy is a filmmaker, audio visual artist, creative arts producer, networker and lecturer in media production at Solent University. With over 30 years’ professional experience as an amateur and corporate filmmaker, VJ, audio visual artist, and event production. And coming on 20 years’ experience of teaching in Higher Education. His academic area of specialisation is in media practice, development and production, story, fiction production and media project management. He has published widely and is actively researching into project-based learning, research for creative practice and media practice education. He is currently engaged as a Senior Lecturer & Course Leader in Media Production at Solent University. Prior to that he worked in China for three years of teaching Drama/ESL at Hebei United University for two of those, then transferring to Zhejiang University of Media and Communications to teach Communications Theory and Lifestyle Journalism. He originally travelled to China in order to pursue interests in learning Taiji/Qigong and has learnt a few words of Chinese. Portsmouth, UK
