Curator Bev Chandler continues to present an imaginative, stimulating and challenging programme of exhibitions at the Creative Hinckley Gallery with the current show which is a multi-media presentation designed by choreographer Sara Giddens and produced by Dance4.

The work is a collaboration between Giddens, video artist Tony Judge, composer Jen Bell and the Night Bus Choir.

The aim is explore “the athlete as an interface between the human and the superhuman” and to engage with the “athlete’s drive to physical excellence”.

What the visitor finds at the gallery is a space filled with three large screens showing continuous images of gymnasts at work, a sound track and several pieces of gym equipment. These include some large mats upon which, when I was at the gallery, young visitors tumbled and cartwheeled enthusiastically.

The full potential of the piece will, no doubt, be realised at the Live Performance and drawing Workshop on Saturday the 2nd March from 12.00 noon.Tickets may be booked at 01455 255833
