A 3rd LiveART night curated by Tim Bromage opens

Two households, both alike in dignity

I was lucky enough who visit TactileBosch in October this year to see a magical and outstanding night of performance art .It is rare for me to be able to go to see performance and not be distracted by performing myself; so this was a treat most fine. The gallery looked very clean and the atmosphere was most convivial. As I walked through the space and up the stairs a robot or man was standing in a small space high above my head, in the rafters, although closer to the moon with balloons he made passing light from the glitter all over his body and the balloons tied to his cock ….he was fair Romeo of the house of Bosch. His name might have been Karl. Behind this minstrels gallery was a room where the distraught Juliette of the house of Stitt wearing wearing a limited edition Babot hoody, hunched over a white desk distraught over the small cluster of artist studio needs beside him/her. Mr Babot gave off a strong presence in that small white room he seemed to be making a prayer to friendship evermore.

Beside bonny Juliette, was a room lined with sandpaper in which someone was very arduously making lumps of coal into spheres…. Here perhaps the House of Bosch von Fielding makes their live artists work very hard but this futile task seemed most cruel and the poor fellows blue outfit was getting all covered in coal…. But more Coal was to come this iconic Welsh materiel found other uses yet, on this fair night.

A chair with a woman contorted through it was noticed on the way back upstairs , where I saw a tall young woman with long hair get up onto a table and perform a series of rituals involving dripping a beautiful blue substance that alluded to wax, slowly making patterns on her body. I really thought this was wax and the tension in the work, came from the thought that she was burning herself; a proof, penitence in the House of Fun Fielding. The rarity of this work could have been grief here , or it could have been delight.

Later a man called Bromich made a peculiar work with his trademark dental appliance holding his mouth into a strangely, contorted shape. Built himself a kind of hang man’s noose and followed a series of rich actions, that demanded the audiences total attention, including piercing his skin with fish hooks and dousing himself in iodine I believe coal came into the equation as well. T.Bs lists or scores for his performances are very good and he should publish them with the photos.

Finally we were led to the culprits – ourselves; the Mr. Paul Hurly presented a beautiful lecture about the history of that curious beast, the scapegoat before asking us to write down our sins and tie them to his pile of rocks. One who by one the basket on his back was filled with these rocks and he walked slowly in procession by his hands and knees with his weight of years to the river; the dark River by the twisted tango banks, one by one the rocks were tossed into the dark swirl; the baptism was over.

This was a satisfying end to a thoughtful night. The house of Bosch von Fielding had proved once again what a huge contribution was been made to the live art cannon in Cardiff This was massively helped by the children of the house of Stiit, yes there is room for everyone to make good work here in Wales and nobody even gets hurt (very much).
