Amanda Jane here,

I hand weave fabrics to make bags, purses, scarves, waistcoats, chair covers, etc. I was a fabric designer by trade working in the textile industry.

I now have a table loom to work with and my own design of hand loom that I use to teach weaving workshops to beginners.

I would love the opportunity to weave something large and exciting with the community – you never know who may be reading this, so just in case.

Here are a few photographs showing my products.

Hi,

Autumn is proving a busy time for me at AJWeaving.

Keep the Kit workshops are running alongside Learn to Weave workshops across Tyne and Wear. I have a new Weave with Nature workshop running in December.

On November 25th I am running a workshop in a gorgeous cafe in Dipton, called Keeper’s Cafe. Have a look at their What’s On page.

Today, I will be delivering my work to my first exhibition. Bill Quay artists at Gateshead Library.

Another fun event was teaching Aztec weaving in a Primary school. i got lovely feedback.

“My Year 5 class had a fantastic morning weaving with Amanda. They were engaged and eager to learn this new skill thanks to Amanda’s presentation, demonstrations and preparation. This visit really enhanced our topic of the Aztecs and will be something they will talk about for some time. Thank you.” Mr Charlton

If you want to learn to weave get in touch or buy a kit. Check out my fantastic, new website.

Amanda Jane,
