Now is a good time.

Hello!

I’ve been watching the other Re:View blogs appear over the past weeks since we all found out that our applications have been successful and working out when is a good time to start mine. Now is a good time.

The reason for my application to the bursary is thus: I came back from a residency to Shanghai last December with a proposal for a piece of interactive digital projection work. I don’t have the right skills to realise this piece of work, and it seems that there are lots of places to start, and all of them are going to take indepth knowledge of programming to make it happen. The re:view bursary is going to help me find (and pay) the right people with the right skills to help me do this.

Alongside the technical support I’ve also got a plan for critical support to challenge me and the work I’m producing.

The reason that now is a good time to start this blog is because I have a couple of initial meetings taking place next week, and because I’ve reached a point of no return regarding a place to show the work. I’ll be taking over the ‘Vide’ space at the Bluecoat in Liverpool from late July with new pieces of work. The bluecoat brochure went to print this week with my show in it.

No turning back now.
