RETURN TO FRANCE

After an amazing holiday in the United States I have come back to England with a bump, the realisation that I need to turn into an application writing machine in the coming weeks is not a pretty image. Moving house just before the residency was probably not the wisest decision as I am still unpacking boxes, moving the studio around and working out what art work I want to make once I’m through with the France thing. It’s almost as though I have to re discover my work, a lost feeling which I don’t think will disappear for a while. Enough of that for now though, I return to France tomorrow to install the exhibition at Chateau de Sacy which opens this Saturday. The catalogue will also be ready for the exhibition too, however it has been difficult to communicate my thoughts and ideas of how I would like the catalogue to look over an email. I wonder how I will respond and react to the work once I re-install it. I spent so long mulling over the tiniest detail so my hope is that I will relax when it comes to the actual showing of my pieces on Saturday. The performance ‘Charcoal Skin’is something I am really looking forward to, most of my performances have been long (maybe 4 hours in length) in the past however this will probably only last for one hour at the most, depending on how the performance develops.
