Day 10

All done, but now there’s a bit of a problem…how to get it out of the kitchen and down to the gallery. in the meantime where’s it going to be stored? answer…in a very kind friends garage.

We’ve both said we love the pared-down simplicity of the form, how it’s become incredibly sculptural. I like the idea that it’s an anti-consumerist tree. A second chance for the tree itself, which has been wrapped in old damaged children’s paperbacks. Re-use, re-cycle, re-new.

Day 2

The tree is proving really time-consuming in terms of paper mache. I think it’s driving Jeanette bonkers.

We had this idea to use last year’s christmas tree as the starting point for the commission for Oriel Myrddin.
