As the planning stage morphs into building and realization my excitement grows by the minute…and I’m hoping against all odds that this time whats in my head will become reality.

Approximatly two weeks to go:

It’s time to put everything in motion and, get down to the actual work. It is the period when one can get little break from the thinking process and delves into measuring and building.

Bring out the power tools and the joy of visual planning.

To do list follows other lists and everything starts to come togheter.

The three elements of the exhibition can enter their finalstages soon.

1 The Living Room

2 Everything Must Go- Liquadition Sale

As the date of the final exhibition approaches, the concept behind the show seems to concentrate into a solid point.

My aim with most project is to enable a kind of natural interaction between viewer and work. I intend to surpass the learned reaction in-build via the traditional institutional visit. The quite, reverend attitude when in the presence of art, which teaches one: do not touch.

In Everything Must Go my plan is to create situations which carry an obvious function that would enable all to “use” art and through this interaction create instant communities.

The basic for these element are shopping and home entertainment. I will build a living room in which -as in a home environment- personal choice dictates; and an ultimate bargain shopping experience that allows the participant to engage in a well known matter put in a new context.

today is limited time day

so i just want to share another video created during this year.

The work original idea is connected to the Sound and Vision performance mentioned in yesterdays blog.

The concept of the revolving eye developed through research into the psychology of death and my idea of existence.

feed backs r welcome

I promise I willnever die

During the residency I got involved with the organisation of Sound and Vision events

It started with building the stageset/installation that gave the backdrop for the musicians. Later involving me in a performance with Edge Effects Andy Preston. Sound and Vision is aiming to promote experimental music and video art.

I have never been involved in anything vaugley musical before, and this opportunity opened up many new experiences and thought me new ways to approach my work.

The first event resulted in a performance connecting the disconnected through music.

The second time around the stageset evolved into an interactive corridor space featuring life feed from the street , a video and many intriguing elements to play with.

Apllying lights and reflective surfaces the work gave a quazy futuristic backdrop to the featured acts:

Mango Shank

Unpronouncable Squigle

Non Ferric Memories
