I've been working on a new application; 'the last one' I tell myself. This one is an opportunity with money attached (how rare is that?!) and it's not as if there's a 20-page application form to complete or even a proposal to write. So, why not?
Yet again, I've been trawling through Festial images, but this time the ones appropriate to the theme of this application are quite specific. It's been refreshing to look at things from a different perspective.
Passionate interests in magic, imprints, the ancient and the ephemeral - and their effect on our lives today - lead me to work in resonant locations. I suppose it's an attempt to contain and reveal natural/magical currents present in specific places. Sometimes the work feels quite meditative, but at the same time I don't want to shy away from the brutal and shocking, which are never far beneath the surface. In sharing my 'evidence' I hope people will find themselves having to decide whether or not they actually believe in these currents - and whether they, too, feel anything.
