A new group for anyone from the east or west midlands with a personal or professional interest in textiles.

The group will launch this October at UCE Birmingham with inaugural exhibition, seminar, discussion groups, trade fair, workshops and demonstrations.

MTF is also appearing at the Knitting and Stitching Show at the NEC, so come and meet us, join or buy tickets for the launch day.

Here is some more information about the developments of our new group for the Midlands. It is now confirmed that Birmingham will host the launch of the group on Saturday 27th October 2007 at the University of Central England. The launch day will include a seminar, discussion groups, demonstrations and workshops by members, a trade fair and an open exhibition of members work which will run for a further 4 weeks. We have also begun to book follow on exhibitions the first being in Droitwich Library Gallery in Dec 2007.

The group will also be appearing at the Knitting and Stitching Show at the NEC in September to promote the launch.

Midlands Textile Forum is featured in a number of publications this month, beginning with the May/June edition of Embroidery and the next issue of SlipKnot so look out for us!

We have had lots of interest from galleries for future exhibitions and are currently looking at our 2009+ programme. Interest in the group is going from strength to strength. An exhibition tour for 2008 is being planned and expressions of interest in the group are coming in daily.
