results have been out for ages, although we were lead to expect them later this week. unit marks were posted on our university website back in june. so people have all worked out their own banding. there was no build up, no anticipation. just a ripple through the year group when someone posted a status on facebook saying they were out.
it is a shame that there was no joint excitement or apprehension. it feels that the culmination of all the hard work has fizzled into obscurity. it is like a metaphor for how much this degree actually counts in the real world – not one jot! yes, a personal achievement for us all. a journey that none of us would have missed. but in the words of laura espley “i’m still fucking here – 20 grand in debt and i am still here”
