The theme for the exhibition The Londoner and The Interview is really about commuters, travelling to work emerging from a gloomy, uncertain, weathered streets but one can begin to understand the importance of this imagery. This work has captured the present situation of the world through the choice of colour and use of material for depiction of the images and it is posing questions in a subtle way where viewers need to invest time to discover it.

How did the collection started? At first I created two oil paintings The Interview and The Interview 2. Inspiration for these works was the beginning of the world economic crisis and my personal difficulty to get a full-time employment. First Londoner work was completed just before my moving to live in London.

I presented these works with a few other works to a gallery owner Mike from Manchester and he was really impressed with above mentioned works. Two Interview works were exhibited in Manchester.

With initial idea of the Interview I pursued to develop the theme even further. The collection grew not at the speed that I wanted as my creative process can take time. Thinking process and sketching can be time consuming while physical act of creation for me can take day or two or even up to a week. If it takes me longer to create work I am struggling, than the work can be reconsidered, abandoned or created from scratch at later date. There is no clear formula for creativity but if I had one I would patent it. When creating artwork, I am not thinking about the style but rather what I want to achieve. I am interested in ‘how things work’ and I investigate this in different aspects of form, shape, light and colour. It is part of the struggle that makes work become alive but that is not always what happens. Occasionally, work will presents itself in one go, easily, just flowing out of the brush. This can be really surprising and kind of a revelation moment. That is something that can really complete me. It is never a straight line in creation and there is no formula at least for my creative process. In my opinion artist should observe the world at present time and use this observation to depict it in their work. Also, I find exploration of art and use of media as important part of my work. Media exploration helps me to develop and grow as an artist and to create coherent themed ideas.
