I have decided to enter only the two larger works into the degree show, i think this in effect is enough to show my concept, the two works are large and demand attention and adding anything more would only dwarf my other entries, i also believe less is more and having the two on show will be just as effective as showing other pieces.

In the final run in toward the degree show my work has become slightly more structurally unsafe, this has also completely changed the dynamic of my work.

It was intentional that i got the second piece to become kinetic in some manner whether it was moved be electricity or by the public, but due to growing concern about the nature of the work i have found it best that i keep the work where and as it is, immobile.

The detail and intention behind the concept is there but this creates the dimension of the work being a statuary still but conceptually kinetic work.

Due to the nature and materials used it is no longer what it was intended for but still has the potential given certain parts were replaced with stronger more durable parts.

Now the finalization process has begun i am now down to deciding how to present my work in such a manner in which it optimally reflects it’s meaning and concept. Decision making in terms of where to place my sculptures for the most advantageous place to best explain its narrative is more difficult than first perceived. In its current situation the work is sat behind a large window pane which opens to a host of trees, this in-arguably hides my work and almost makes it lost in translation.

Testing the structural strength of the legs as well as adding rubber bands to ensure the limbs will bend the correct way.

Working on the final touches toward the end of the show, getting a rough size as to how big it may be and whether or not it will be relevant to add anything more than the two i have described.
