We collected samples in Rendlesham, both items went into the same receptacle which is probably highly dubious in terms of collecting evidence however the evidence was well basic to say the least and some 30 plus years after the incident. I left the receptacle and contents in Dominique’s capable hands and wonder if it will find its way to Aid and Abet at some point – although it may not fit through their letter box.

I’ve been trawling the internet for diffferent maps of the Incident area, partly as it was difficult for me to get bearings whilst wandering around the forest (I forgot I had a compass in my kit). Lots and lots of rows of trees. One thing I came across was ” Is the Rendlesham Forest Incident Happy?” from this fairly well-known site: www.jonbounds.co.uk/isbrumhappy by Jon Bounds. I tried it last week or so and was dispirited as the Incident came up as “AWFUL”.

Emotional Wellbeing for Rendlesham Forest incident on: Tuesday 27th of September 2011 22:57: 0 % (awful)

Today, as you can see below, is much better. Better for whom though?

Emotional Wellbeing for Rendlesham Forest incident on: Tuesday 4th of October 2011 23:02: 61.3 % (okay) spirit

Sad to Happy: 7 (out of 10)

Asleep to Awake: 5.56 (out of 10)

We have started sending in research material to Aid & Abet, for them to display in the gallery space as they choose. To date, 2 postcards, email images, email text and the initial short video. As a process, this certainly keeps the mind ticking over the information we have collected to date, never mind the NHS. The lateset piece was text from our interview – it is interesting that the notes we both took describe slightly differing versions of the UFO sighting – how stories and memories can subtly transform, like chinese whispers, and how small alterations in language, punctuation or maybe the omission of a letter can somewhere along the line create radically different meanings.

A view from within Rendlesham Forest of the corner of Woodbridge Airbase, next to the well-known East Gate. The person we interviewed in Suffolk lent us a book: “Left At East Gate” by Larry Warren and Peter Robbins. Peter Robbins spoke at the 30th Anniversary of the Incident Conference, and Larry Warren was, I think, a witness to the Incident. I’ll have to look at the interview notes and get back to you on this…..

Following our day-long investigation of UFO traces in Suffolk yesterday, a postcard came from Canada this morning re: Rendlesham Incident. I will forward this to Aid and Abet for their information.

Some thoughts on the investigation kit that I took on our touring yesterday. Firstly, it was quite heavy, secondly, it did not all fit in the Investigation Satchel, so I had, in effect 3 bags including my video camera case. Thirdly, it was difficult to access the equipment in a rush. Forthly, there were some glaring gaps in my equipment portfolio, in particular a torch, which would have been useful in the gloomy forest at dusk, and some latex gloves for picking up suspect objects. A thermos of coffee and some cake would have been quite nice too.

This link was forwarded to me – a journey by others into the forest. It was a bit strange stumbling across a camp site complete with smoking barbecues and play equipment as we staggered blinking out of the forest after our ramble.

We will post some of our findings in the following week, as we send them in to Aid and Abet for the investigation archive.
