Day 5.

The Forest studio is perfectly set up here. The studio come living room also houses the cooking facilities so I can rack my brain, type, draw, make, wash and sleep without taking to many steps at all. While this is a welcomed rest for my body, it makes me realise how much extra mental and physical energy is taken up by navigating a city centre to do all of those things at home. This place invites focus.

Having enjoyed inhabiting the studio/living quarters combination at the SVA Forest studio, I decided to go outside for the first time in 2 days. I needed supplies and thought it might be a good idea to see some of the surrounding area.

I went to Faversham to browse the market.

Day 3.

Today I began compiling a list of names of artists who have utilised welding processes in their work. I will work through it accordingly, researching the the role of welding within their practices.

I spent a long time looking for information about Ibram Lassaw and trying to locate his work in the UK. So far I have been unsuccessful.
