Class of 2020: Cecily Loveys Jervoise

BA (Hons) Fine Art and Art History, Kingston School of Art.

“Materials list for foraged ceramics:
Bucket, Spade, Mud, Time, Sunshine, Clay, YouTube, Teaspoon, Sawdust, Manure, Leaves, Matches.

Wallowing in an organic/synthetic, nature/culture riff, my work reconnects to what we call nature through organic matter and slow processes. These foraged clay ceramics are fired with leaves and manure to create unpredictable patterns. They are emblematic of my decisions to prioritise organic reappreciation. And my favourite thing, the pots themselves encourage foraging for flowers to fill them.”
