Inspired by renowned artist Susan Hiller, who collects water from sacred sites across the world for her Homage to Joseph Beuys series, the pilgrimage will be an active journey with a purpose and a way of unifying people through a shared and precious experience.

Led and documented by artist filmmaker duo Webb-Ellis, who will use their research in a new installation artwork that will be unveiled at the Nunnery Gallery as part of the Museums at Night festival in October.

Starts at the Nunnery Gallery, Bow at 10am on Saturday 24 September

The full pilgrimage will take walkers east to Valentine’s Park, leading through the streets and green spaces of east London, including the Olympic Park and Wanstead Flats.

Join us along the way (the map route will be revealed in September) for less ambitious walkers.

Meet us at 4pm at Jacob’s Well, Valentine’s Park for the drawing of water event.

To draw water simply bring along a vessel of your choice.
(We may ask if these can be included in the gallery’s installation).

Family friendly

A digital map of the walk will be released shortly and available to download from this page.
